Our customer, the GARDNER family, recently expressed interest in having a culinary establishment for the local feathered community. After some design discussion, the GARDNER Covered Bridge emerged. This bird feeder is meant to bring an iconic piece of Americana into the world of our flying friends. The bridge features (9) feeding stations and offers multiple feeding options. Two separate feed bins are found within the cupola at the top of the bridge where a barn quilt painting adds interest to the surrounding structure. Another feed bin can be found between the slide in feed trays found on either end of the bridge. The overhead portions of the bridge are made from cypress wood and feature carved in shaker type shingles on the angled segments of the roof. The flat sections of roof are covered with a resin coating and painted, all done to help promote dry feed content and extended life in the great outdoors. The floor of the bridge is made of red cedar and the structure is white oak. Although all new wood is used to make the bridge, the complete structure is hand painted to give the bridge a period correct and weathered character. The entire exterior surface is sprayed with a clear coat to further protect it from weathering.
To commemorate the bridge one large sign has been CNC carved, hand painted and presented on one side of the bridge. Two smaller signs have also been CNC carved, hand painted and attached to the structure above the bridge openings found on each end.

Each end of the bridge accepts a slide in feed tray. These trays can be left completely open to the birds or, alternatively, a wired mesh basket can be inserted in the tray.
The middle section of the bridge is designed to accept a wire mesh feed bin that sits between the two slide in trays. Our birds access this feed bin through the window in the middle of the lower bridge structure.
