The house is surrounded with an oak boardwalk and fronted with a hitching post that serves double duty as a perch. Just inside the faux swinging door entry, we find the local sheriff. One must wonder if the sheriff entered the saloon to check with locals regarding the many wanted villains appearing on the posters attached to the saloon walls. It is also quite possible our sheriff stepped in for a few hands of cards in Sparrows Poker room. Or, perhaps it was simply that lunch time pricing for the bird seed or the suet lunch fit our sheriff’s budget. We think the most likely reason for the sheriff’s appearance was the opportunity to enjoy Miss Kitty’s nightly song and dance routine.
