In our local Cincinnati market, we offer onsite birdhouse making events. Each participant in the event receives one of our birdhouse making kits. Then the fun begins. Our kit includes one perch and (7) pieces of 3/4" thick pine: front, back, (2) sides, (2) roof pieces and a base. The kit comes with instructions and a package of nails that can be used to fasten the pieces together. Holes are pre-drilled into the various pieces to indicate where the nails are to be used and to make it easier to hammer them into the wood. We suggest to use a water resistant wood glue, such as Titebond III, to add strength to the completed structure. Clamps, or a second pair of hands, can be very helpful in keeping the pieces from moving while nailing them together. Note: wood glue, hammer, clamps and finishing items such as paint and sandpaper are not included in the kit. Some of our customers prefer that we provide a completed birdhouse that they can paint.
